Women Identity Purpose desires to support the economic improvement of mothers and their children.
Studies show that when a woman has a better paying job she is not only happier, but she can provide a better environment for her child to live. The median weekly salary for a woman older than 25 years of age is only about $584 weekly. The median weekly salary decreases for Black and Hispanic households; $491 and $410 respectively. Because there is only one salary in the single mother household, this perpetuates the state of her financial inequality. Hence our goal is to improve the quality of life of the mother and her children. We propose to support working mothers by providing financial awards to allow them to fulfill their career purposes.

There are over 10.6 million women owned businesses in the United States, only 117,000 generate over a million in equity annually. Most start up minority businesses don't succeed because they are cash poor or lack the guidance needed to succeed. We would like to provide our awardees with funds to promote their start-up business success

The Grady-Mcknight Award
We would like to annually award two outstanding working poor mothers with financial awards for academic financing or monies to assist with the start up costs for a lifestyle business. Find out more details.
